! Happy Birthday Someone is Special !

Recently, due to my busy schedule in my office I am not able to visit my close and respectful friend’s blogs. I really miss those wonderful blog posts, also I feel bad for missing those and they would have felt bad for not stopping by their blog. I am hoping to read my fellow poets/bloggers at least from the start of next month. Yesterday when I sat down to pen down my experience on Blog-a-Ton posts, I became emotional due to simple reasons and posted a status in FB, “* No mood to write * feeling void * why it is so? * missing something? *”, of course, I was little depressed missing something and someone, thanks for all the sweet hearts who soothed me with their comments and that is why I am here to pour my feelings.

My profile ‘About Me’ column used to be – “Wait till I complete my Few Miles”, the journey was awesome and it is time to share who am I, why am I here and how I feel to be here

Well as most of you know this is Saravana Kumar Murugan a.k.a Someone is Special and I love to be called so, as my pen name is a sweet dedication to my dream angel.

Writing is my passion, and I am born in this world to express my dreams, I do so as poems and prose. I do prefer poetry as it helps me to rhyme what I love to, and attain peace.

I was born on 28th March 1987 in Chennai, India and my garden consists of Sweet Mom, Father, Two Sister (One is no more in this world), and a younger brother. I would say the best family one could ever wish to live and I will never be able to end this write-up though I write billion words about my family, such a sweet family.

This is my photo when I am three months old and you could see my Family Photos here on FB.

Moving to my schooling, I studied in a Government school where teachers felt hard to teach us English but my love for English and Mathematics made me to learn them easily and to master in Mathematics. And in my school days I first dreamt about a girl “Someone Special” ~ dream angel and it all started there as I penned my first poem titled ‘Sorry’

Sorry to wake you up in your sleep!
Sorry for hugging you last night that deep!
Sorry to implant my lips on yours!
Sorry for tasting it for some hours!
Sorry to reveal those unheard words!
Sorry for wishing that not to be my dreams!

From that day until today, I love to write poems most of them being romantic ones as the source of wisdom being Romantic King ‘Wordsworth’ and the one who inspired being the sweetest dream girl in this world.. I write mostly on love, romance and friendship.

Here is my school group photo….

Later after entering into college life, I learnt what life is and found my special friends there. Also faced critics for my poor English and that is where I started to learn the language and still learning…

After being selected in campus, a year of frustration due to recession I joined Wipro Technologies as a fresher, initial days of corporate life, I enjoyed it and after those days I started my blogging career because of my close friend’s request. She chose pendownmythought from my list of ten, and I chose Few Miles as the blog name and on 20th October 2009, I published the poem “First Waters” to start my journey of ‘Few Miles’.

Later I started to publish few of those poems I penned already and wrote fictions too, published my school days sketches too. The first ever post I wrote for a contest was ‘What If’ and for Blog-a-Ton, which received a warm welcome by this blogosphere. The post “Hidden” helped me to bond friendship with Vinay, Blogging Mom - Amity and Scribbling Girl. Later I received my first critics for my language on “Wish” by my bloggerdost Vibhuthi and Scribbling Girl became my first regular reader after three BAT posts. I was depressed with the critics but my close friends helped me to overcome it. Also advised to face the critics as they are the stepping-stones for success and I thank Vibhuthi for this.

With positive thoughts, I penned “Moments of Madness”, a contest hosted by BlogAdda and registered my first win in Blog-o-sphere. Thanks BlogAdda and Monika for the SmileS, so sweet of you people as it helped me to bridge with many bloggers. Also, I won “Best Campus Joinee” Award in my company, SmileS, SmileS and SmileS, all over the world..

Followed by this win I was acknowledged by “WeBlog” for my post, “Last Wish” and IndiBlogger on “Call it as Love”, SmileS and my friendship with Zainab blossomed well. I was introduced to Meme blogs by Vinay and Jingle visited me on Friendship Day to shower her blessing with three wonderful awards. After Vinay and Ji SmileS, I became visible to this world as Someone is Special.

I explored different varieties of prose 55-Fiction, 77-Fiction, Drabble, Flash Fiction and in poetry the exploration started with inspiration from Vinay in the form of “Haiku”, later Acrostics, Tetractys, Etheree, Villanelle and Sonnet was added to the experiment lists. Some of the works appreciated by my fellow bloggers are “Goodbye”, “Return”, “True Love Never Ends”, “Pain”, “Rhyming Waters” and it also helped me to reach as many people as possible and bud with G-Man, Rachana, Brian, and many.

Within this short and sweet journey I reached my first little milestone * 100 Posts * honoured by Vinay. I was also recognized for my great work in office with many awards, became a favourite person in my development centre and so in my blog.

I decided to start a meme blog, “Room for Romance”, received a decent reception, and I was interviewed by Jamie of Jingle Poetry for the same. I was taken by surprise when Vinay threw a challenge to him, Z-A Challenge, I decided to try at it and indeed succeeded in the challenge with a combo work “Three Knots”, gist of my first novel but failed in NaNoWriMo, and I hope next year I may complete the challenge of 50,000 words in thirty days. Also, I became close to few of my blogging friends and my first guest post blossomed in my blogging Mom Amity’s blog. My work, “Celebrations”, “I wished”, “The Mystery” received a great readership and gave me self-confidence in my journey. Also, I met my Cool friend Vinay and Zainab in IndiBlogger Meet. Also made new friends in the wonderful meet.

! Wishes !”, a poem from deep of my heart, the work added many feather in my cap, “Perfect Poet”, “BlogJunta’s Editor Choice”, “Gemma’s list of best blog posts” and few mails to replenish my thoughts. From that day the journey has acknowledged few wins, “#way to work” contest winner, “Celebrate Poet of 2010 Awards”, “BlogJunta Verdict” winner under Fiction and Poetry, “Great Debaters” winner, “* 200 posts, awesome honour from Ji – what else one could wish for? * “Succeeded in Hosting the Haiku Challenge”, “Blog M Grand Poetry Contest” winner, “Celebrate Poet of Spring 2011”, got published in Online Magazine, “Cynic”, the latest addition is BlogJunta’s “to have loved and lost” Poetry contest winner. I hope soon to be a “Blog-a-Tonic” too. 

Thanks for all the smiles, for all the sweet hearts who helped me to win by votes, and to judges for selecting my work.

SmileS… SmileS…SmileS…

This year I am sure I will publish my novel, hoping to make many new friends and cherish my old ones as well. With all your wishes & blessings I wish to start this wonderful year and love to pen down more from my heart and as always, I love to be “Someone is Special”.

She met him in a lonely place
Fell in love with him deeply

She has free boundaries
Without knowing the real fear

She never knew it is lust
As days went so fast and so him

She believed him truly
But her belief went in deception

She now think of his silky touches
Whenever cool breeze kissed her

She realised it a little late
That is a beginning of a sad story

! the love prophecy !

My dear friends read this post as a jolly ride in a roller coaster, ignore the mistakes and just enjoy as this was one of the write-up close to my heart.

This post is published as a part of Blogeshwar and Anubhooti

It all started three weeks back when one of my roommate (college hostel) troubled me to find out the answer for this unanswerable question, ‘How to predict or to know whether a girl is in love with oneself or not? Though it is very tough to answer, I challenged him to predict a girl’s responses when someone loves and the way to make a girl fall in love.

‘Are you sure about it?’ Atul said, ‘I am ready for the challenge’ I said but my roommates laughed saying not even God could predict what a girl think in her mind.

‘Let’s see, the countdown starts?’ except Atul everyone laughed at me once again. ‘So what is your plan and who is the girl machi’ he said, ‘the girl,’ smiled, ‘the lucky girl would be one I see tomorrow, I mean the first one’, ‘Make sure she is not our cleaning women,’ he laughed as we closed our eyelids.

I woke up little early, bathed and started to temple. ‘Oh Muruga, show me a good-looking girl…. No no good-hearted girl…’ I prayed to God, opened my eyes and found an angel standing before me… She opened her eyes in seconds and smashed me like volleyball. ‘Oh Muruga, what a girl she is... no an angel... The wavy hair with a couple of strands dancing here and there, tiny little ears, heart-stealing eyes, a perfect rose bud lips and much more Wow… Is she really a human being or she is my dreamy angel...? I need someone to pinch me... I am mesmerized completely’, ‘dai… (Dude)... You are very lucky…’ Atul shouted…

I pleaded him not to shout before her but idiot never stopped instead shouted more. And I came out of her eyes after hearing someone shouting in the middle of the class... ‘Siddesh, are you here?’, actually the person who shouted was my Physics Mam and I was the one referred there. ‘Define relative magnetism’, she shouted, Mam, ‘If a guy gets attracted by a girl’s eyes in no time is’ ‘I didn’t expect this answer from a topper’ and the whole class laughed at me.

‘Enna machi... (What dude), entha ponna pathum ippadi puncture anathu illa da... (I haven’t been punctured like this on seeing a girl dude). ‘Don’t worry I just collected her details’, ‘Siddhesh and Atul get out of the class’ Physics mam yelled at us. ‘At last the topper of the class is now out of the class’ he smiled and so I, ‘So tell me dude’.

‘Name: Ritika, Department: Information Technology, State Topper, Daughter of a Business Man and she is our junior’ he said, I kissed him in happiness, ran towards the first year classroom and saw the angel’

‘What is your plan dude?’ ‘First God Next Google’ I said, surfed and read a point. ‘If a boy keeps staring at a girl continuously then she might get irritated or she may like it either’. ‘That’s a nice point’ I said to myself and decided to stare at her but when? ‘Oh Muruga…’ and God blessed a chance, yeah next day at the canteen, she was having her lunch. And the only seat left was the one next to her. I didn’t give chance to any of my friends or seniors to occupy it because I sat there before anyone.

‘E-cups’, suddenly I, ‘drink some water,’ she gave me the water, ‘You are an angel’ I said, stared at her for the next fifteen minutes. I couldn’t stop so I followed her to Library to star at her and I did. ‘Hey bro’, I was shocked to hear that word, turned my head slowly to check whose voice was that. And luckily, it was my friend’s sister Rekha. ‘Hey Rekha, how are you?’ and it started not the conversation but staring at her, Ritika.

‘What you think the reaction will be?’ Atul said, ‘I think she likes me a lot,’ ‘how can you say that?’ he said, ‘Because she knows that I am staring at her but never she shouted or showed anger on her face’ I smiled in happiness. ‘What is your next step then?’ he said, ‘getting featured in her heart’, ‘how’, ‘Tomorrow is their digital lab and our electric lab’, ‘So?’, ‘So, I spoke with Rekha about my love and she agreed to help me. She will steal her record; keep it in our lab records without her notice.’ ‘So’, ‘As usual our physics Mam will shout at her for not submitting the record’ ‘so’, ‘Mam, I think this record of Ritika, 1st year is misplaced in our records.’ ‘So?’ ‘Girls like the boys who help them and I predict that she should of that type.’ ‘What is the advantage?’ ‘Tit for tat incase of physics Mam and a soft corner in case of Ritika.’…. In the next day lab, everything went fine as planned and my prediction was right. ‘She said thanks with a huge smile’

‘Dai (dude), you are awesome, and your prediction was chanceless machi....’ Atul jumped in happiness and so I… ‘So what is the next step?’ ‘Well Mathematics....’ ‘I got it’, he said and we slept. ‘Sir, Sir, Sir,’ I was practicing how to plead to him, ‘Siddesh, will you take a session today for your juniors on mathematics tips and tricks?’ ‘Sir, it is my pleasure’ I jumped in happiness as I counted seconds for the siren.

‘Students, this is Siddesh, topper of the batch and today he will take a session on mathematics tips and tricks’ he gave a small intro about me. I started my session with few quotes on mathematics. ‘Rekha: 5 * 5’ ‘25’, ’55 * 55’, she stood frozen, ‘Ritika’ – ‘3025’, ‘Right but that is not the question....’ ‘555 * 555’, she stood frozen, ‘308025’ everyone was surprised to hear it. ‘How come’, ‘555 – 5 * 5 = 25, 55 * 56 = 3080 so does it make 308025’, ‘Wow, the class exclaimed’, ‘Sir but 55 * 56?’ Ritika questioned as her eyes showed she was very much eager to know this answer. ‘Simple, 55 * 55 = 3025 + 55 = 3080 and’, ‘Amazing’, the class continued and as I predicted the soft corner now occupied a small corner in her heart. ‘Sir,’ ‘You can call me Sid, Ritika’, she smiled and we spent the break revealing about ourselves.

Wooh Wooh, hoo I jumped in happiness. ‘Dai dai dai, stop enna achu? ‘What happened?’ Atul exclaimed this time. ‘Riti, Riti’s message, why don’t we be friends....’, ‘chill machi (dude), whatever you predicted or wished happened, great great’ and we jumped. ‘Love to be your friend?’ I replied, and that’s where our love story started… That night neither she nor I slept as we were messaging our likes, dislikes, birthdays, favorite subject, sweet moments and many more. ‘A night is enough for everything’ and so it was in our case, we became close friends in less than twelve hours. ‘We will meet at the canteen, 8 AM’ she messaged and we slept by 5 AM...

I somehow managed to wake, dress up and reached the canteen before eight but she didn’t as she slept nicely. Well Newton must be right I said to myself after an hour. ‘Sorry slept without my knowledge’ I received it by 9 30. ‘Its ok....’ I replied... And went to hostel. ‘I am on leave today’ she messaged me, ‘Even I’ I replied.. ‘Sorry I slept without my knowledge, really sorry’, ‘You apologies are accepted’ I replied and slept. In about an hour, I received a message conveying an invite for the lunch outside the campus at Mahaveer Centre and as I predicted. I replied, ‘I love too’, ironed my shirt, jeans for the first time in my life and rushed to the bus stop.

‘Sorry’, ‘Aww, leave it ma’, I said, took bus to the place. ‘Well I predicted’, ‘predicted’ her eyebrows went up; I smiled and rooted the conversation to a different theme, the love theme. ‘You are so romantic’ she said in the middle of our lunch, ‘am I’, I smiled. ‘Why don’t you come to my home once?’ ‘Why not today?’ I said, ‘great’. On the way to home she revealed more about her and the one was, ‘I love rain,’ I smiled, ‘I wish to dance in rain now’, ‘well you can in another half an hour’, I said, and as I predicted the rain came down in half an hour and so we enjoyed the rain.

By the time we reached her home, we were completely wet. She gave me a towel and asked to help myself, in few minutes she came back in a half saree. ‘You look cute?’ I said, she blushed, ‘by the way how did you predict the rain’, ‘belief’, ‘belief?’, ‘yeah’, ‘this is interesting,’ I smiled to escape and changed the topic to love. ‘You are an ingredient of love marriage’, I said ‘how’, ‘a prediction’ I said and it continued, I left her home by 7 in the evening.

I predicted to rain but not that I will suffer from fever for the next two days. She visited my hostel room at least thrice a day. The friendship slightly blossomed into love from her side. ‘Actually’... "I was requested not to pen down this part" and so now to sweet proposal (after a week)..

‘I believe she will propose now’, I said, ‘How’, Atul, ‘Secret’, as I predicted she came in my half saree to my hostel room and proposed her ‘Love’... I hugged, hugged, and hugged her tightly, shouted ‘I am in Love with you’.

I went inside room with a huge smile ‘dude, you done it’ everyone congratulated me. ‘You not only won the challenge but also a heart of a girl’, Atul said, I smiled, ‘Are you a God?’, this time I laughed at them and said, prediction is nothing but your belief, just believe yourself you can then win many hearts. ‘Prophecy means a prediction of the future but belief means prediction of you for you,’ if your prediction comes true in life, then you can really win many hearts.’ Prophecy for a soul is the belief of life’ I said...

This day: She started smiling after reading this... May be this is one of the best Prophecy, prediction or as you say 'belief' I have ever enjoyed, ‘Love you so much dear’...

For being born as a woman, God blessed me
With a tiny cute angel in my womb
Fulfilling the birthright of a woman
The Sweet days of motherhood bloomed
And I treasured those to the highest degree
Her sweet touches and punches are the one
Those made me fly high into the sky
The more she played
the more
she made
me happy
the more I
pain it was

with love, I carried her into this world
and with tears, I gifted her to God's heaven
the pain was worse as it filled my heart with
tears and it became a hobby

I requested my angel

'Oh my angel rest your wings
Stay with me for a while
I will feed you my milk
I will sing a lullaby for you
I will hold your hand for a while
And enjoy your tender smile
Why you have gone away?
Please come back to me

the cry
of a mother
“The Lost World”

PS: My mom dedicated this poem to my lost sister. She lived in this awful world for just four days. My mom dictated this poem in Tamil and I translated it. . I have to say, ‘My Mom is a precious angel found in this earth’.

to have loved and lost

Oh my sweet girl
I love you so much
No words can tell how much
I miss you dear

Oh my sweet girl
I stay awake at night
Thinking of you all night
Searching for true love in us

Oh my sweet girl
I pray for you all night
That you will look me back
To wipe out my tears

Oh my sweet girl
I write your name
With blood to show
True love is never serene

Oh my sweet girl
I miss your smiles
The secret of my happiness
Is now lost somewhere

Oh my sweet girl
To have love and lost
Hurts me more than anything
Tears are my friend

Oh my sweet girl
Just come back to me
And sit right beside me
Say, I miss you too

The battering of the door echoed the raging agony in me as I watched the closed door which had just shut in my life. I wanted to divert myself from the hard feelings and so closed my eyes to open my world of favourite memories. After all, this was all I ever did to myself whenever I had been deeply upset – a practice that developed into a prolific habit since the days when I wanted to fly.

I was a little baby when I first saw a colourful thing wandering around the bushes. Out of wild curiosity, I asked Mom what that thing was. ‘Butterfly, my dear!’, she told me, ‘Flies from flower to flower and collects sweet honey’.

From an inquisitive child, I grew up amused by rain. I asked Mom again, ‘Who’s pouring all that water over us for so long?

Heaven, my darling! Heaven sends this down to wash away our sins and to give us holy water to drink and live’. I ran out in joy to enjoy the first waters, and from that day onwards, I never missed to play in rain.

Ma, it is soooo cute’, I said running towards the dog, hugged and kissed it on the muddy road. Mom caressed my head as we took the dog home – my first and sweet friend.

Ma, it is very chill and the moisture in the air is very refreshing, what a sweet climate this is!’ I shouted in happiness enjoying nature.

Just as I was being taken away by the chill in the air, the clouds of dream were blown away by the sudden beep of my mobile.

Sweetie, I am sorry for hurting you. We will meet by six in the mall. Love U, KOIBTIOU”,

I jumped in happiness, took bathe, and dressed up like an angel to meet him.
I stepped out of my home with a huge smile, started my bike, but saw a small dog dead after being hit by some vehicle, dusty atmosphere, and road was too crowded. I silently recalled my memories, the beautiful world, pure air, muddy road, flowers, butterflies, Wow! I wished the world should CHANGE as it was twenty years ago, i.e., .......

And I shamelessly smiled because everyone wishes for CHANGE but no one in this world are actually acting to achieve it, instead resuming their mechanical life for their food. I am not an exception and so I started to mall to meet my sweetheart. “Will Someone act to CHANGE the World for Good?

After sending the mail, I resumed my office work but my heart disagreed with me to work. “Should I call Vidya? Or should I wait for them to call?” I was arguing with myself. Suddenly my phone rang; I pressed the green button in no time, as the name it displayed was “Vidya Vivek”.

Hello! Hi!

Hi Vidya! How is your new life?” I said, and enquired about her hubby, family and in-laws and from her voice; I could understand she is very much excited about her new life. I was happy, as I contributed a small reason for her smiles. I enquired about Vivek’s experience with the doctor. She asked me to wait for a moment, “Hi Sid! How are you?” Vivek said, and he narrated the things that happened in hospital.

Here is an Ode to the doctor, the second after God

I didn’t see the mirror for the past two days, as I was advised not to. I gestured confusingly whether I will be fine after this surgery or not as my Lower Jaw is broken. “You will be fine!” she said, smiled and took me to the operation theatre.

I opened my eyes after few hours saw her standing near me, I smiled, and she showed “Thumbs Up”. I was very happy on seeing her gesture and my mind said that she is the God, I mean, “Doctor is the second God”, I tried to smile but I couldn’t because my lower jaws are screwed and they advised only liquid food.

My mom tried feeding me but her age didn’t allow too, so Dr. Ramya, helped me in feeding me. I pray that no one should be in my situation, you can’t speak, can’t eat, even if they feed a spoon of “Kanji”, I takes two minutes to swallow, first I should I sip it inside my mouth, then try to swallow, Oh God, I can’t smile too, OMG this is bad but Ramya she did everything for me.

She taught how to convey my feelings without uttering the word, the sign, the confident she gave me was amazing! Within three days, I learnt to speak by signals, smiles to her. I gestured questioning, what did they do in the surgery, she said, “We first manually moved your lower jaw then internally screwed it, stitched the tissues, and clipped your teeth”, I was shocked to know this miracle, how come in a mouth they can do this successfully, I became her fan from that day onwards.

I was discharged after a week and a complete check up. While leaving the hospital, I gestured questioning Ramya, “What made her to take so much care on me?” she said, “You look like my elder brother, I lost him in a bike accident. That is why I became a doctor”, “Lost him?” I gestured, “She said yes with tears…” I left the hospital thinking of Ramya and friendship blossomed between us.

Doctors are worshipped after God and here is one such moment that explains about the true care of Doctor, “Service to Mankind is Service to God” and it holds good for Doctors.
